Mrs. Doris Yaro is a dynamic results-oriented leader with 16 years of experience in providing fiscal, strategic and operations leadership in uniquely challenging situations. She has presented series of papers on gender equality with focus on a girl-child education; poverty eradication, and the need for humanitarian aid/medical relief assistance for internally displaced persons and refugees at international level. Mrs. Doris has also founded and currently manages a non-government organization which has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and social council.
Between 2001 and 2006, Mrs. Doris raised more than 100 million naira to implement programmers and projects that has beneficial to the orphans and vulnerable children. She has also carried out a national camping for Girl-Child Education across the enrolment of girl-child in schools in Nigeria.
Mrs. Doris has raised over 120 million naira in cash and kind provided humanitarian assistance and relief materials to more than 5000 families who are internally displaced as a result of Boko Haram insurgencies in northern Nigeria. Under her initiatives, Gabasawa Women and Children empowerment initiatives, she provides yearly scholarship. For more than 500 orphans and vulnerable children in various classes in primary and secondary schools.
